    Re: Let's light a candle!

Thank you to all of you who have lit candles. Deep bows. I know for sure that Ken WILL see the amazing massages that you all have left for him by lighting a candle. What a wonderful virtual, contemplative, spiritual practice. It means so much for all us to be doing something together so simple and yet so powerful. The candles stay lit only for 48 hours but I am copying them! And i will get a print to Ken and Colin. Smile [:)] And, of course, you are welcome to keep lighting them...

Today also, i have lit two candles for Ken's health and Colin's strength during such testing times.

    May God Bless You All.

ps- i don't have any updates yet today.

And let us also be grateful to our dear and beloved Brother David Steindl-Rast for making it possible for us all from all over the world to light candles in one place. Thank you, Brother David! Angel [A]

    Re: Let's light a candle!

    a candle of gratitude
for Nomali and her faithfulness to cultivate this space

and a candle for the ill and dying
those who are in or near the door

for how the dying are our greatest teachers
especially if a teacher may be dying

may we find the grace that abounds
at moments like these that remind us how we are all in together

may we find grace upon grace to hold the liminal space we find our selves in
and so may the next lesson be from healing and recovery

    and may all miracles abound

nomali and all the i-i community,

thank you for the way you have brought us together, the way you have all come together. at first i was very torn by what had happened--by what had been happening for some time now, but you've helped heal me of that.

all the blessings i can possibly pass onto you, ken,
    this unusually still night,

    ralph

The other thing I like about this is that I don't have to worry about the kids or pets starting a fire!

Since Ken is getting better - i still lit a candle for him and hoped that he will be in a good mood!

Another candle for Rollie for his unending goodwill for II through thick and thin.

    nomali,

i'm afraid that after this unexpected vacation he may be in too good a mood: ready to go to work and, sleep?, hell!, who needs sleep?

i'm trusting in your calming influence,

    ralph

Thank you, Ralph and I am still not entirely convinced on the good mood Wink [;)] This is Ken Wilber we are talking about (affectionately, of course!).

    Re: Let's light a candle!

    nomali,

i greatly appreciate your honesty.  for example, when you shared with us that you almost gave up on i-i.  the mistake most of us make is not to share and, then, others only find out when we've already left and it's too late to do anything about it.

needless to say, your more immediate experience with ken is much different from ours.  the only thing i'm aware of which might be due to lack of a good mood is his well known sarcasm and, admittedly, it's much easier to deal with this when it comes in a book that i can put aside if i'm not up to it.  but i've grown to appreciate that sarcasm.  i look at it now as his warning to me that there are things i need to see that i'm not wanting to, but i can, in fact, see, if i'll just look, and he's there to help me with it.

we've gotten a taste of this in the two preliminary chapters from 'the many faces of terrorism'.  i think we can already predict that this will be another case of  'i love wilber, but ....'--not exactly integral.  imo, it's a book (three volume book) we desperately need, but he also needs to get some sleep, so tell him we can wait, however long it takes.

and i understand you were planning to go back to your homeland for the holidays.  i hope this turmoil will not prevent you from doing that.  if he says he needs you, just tell him to take that vacation in LA he was planning on, while you're away.

blessings for both you and our dear ken,

    ralph
